Slovakia and Ukraine Accede to Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks

As reported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), on February 16, 2010, the Slovak Republic deposited its instrument of accession to the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks, while Ukraine deposited its instrument of accession to the same Treaty eight days later, on February 24, 2010.

The Treaty will enter into force, with respect to the Slovak Republic, on May 16, 2010, and with respect to Ukraine on May 24, 2010.

The Singapore treaty, adopted in Singapore on March 27, 2006, establishes common, international standards for administrative trademark registration procedures.
