Kyrgyzstan Patent Applications for Inventions Increase in 2009

According to the official statistics of the Kyrgyz PTO, the number of patent applications for inventions increased by 7.3 percent in 2009 in comparison to 2008. The PTO received 149 patent applications last year, out of which 87 have been recorded in the state registry of inventions.

The most popular areas for inventions were mechanics, chemistry, weapons, electricity, fabrics and technology. From 1993 to 2009, a total of 3,588 patents for inventions were registered in Kyrgyzstan.
