Fake Apparel, Footwear, Accessories Destroyed in Montenegro
On December 18, 2023, PETOŠEVIĆ Montenegro office representatives and local customs authorities witnessed the destruction of nearly 32,500 items found to infringe the Nike®, Zara®, Dsquared2®, USPA®, Under Armor® and Hermès® trademarks.
The goods, which were destroyed in the capital of Podgorica, included sneakers, socks, tracksuits, T-shirts, jerseys, caps, children’s wear, jeans, towels, purses, slippers, belts, and keychains. There were:
- 30,400 items infringing the Nike® trademark;
- 1,085 items infringing the Zara® trademark;
- 410 items infringing the USPA® trademark;
- 362 items infringing the Dsquared2® trademark;
- 193 items infringing the Under Armor® trademark; and
- 32 items infringing the Hermès® trademark.
The destruction was carried out by a local company from Podgorica that undertakes the destruction in accordance with ecological and sanitary standards.
The counterfeits were seized during 2023 at the customs terminal in Podgorica, and were intended for local companies or were in transit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
