UPC’s PPI Enters into Force in Slovenia
Following the Unified Patent Court’s (UPC) start of operations on June 1, 2023, the Protocol on Privileges and Immunities (PPI) of the UPC entered into force for Slovenia on June 24, 2023.
The PPI, which Slovenia signed on June 23, 2017, enables the UPC to benefit from the privileges and immunities necessary for the exercise of its functions in Slovenia, which is hosting a local division of the UPC as well as one of the two seats of the UPC’s Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre in the capital of Ljubljana (the other seat is in Lisbon, Portugal).
