Expansion of Copyright Protection in Albania

On May 6, 2005 the Republic of Albania deposited its instrument of accession to the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) of December 20, 1996. The Treaty will come into force in Albania three months later, on August 6, 2005.

Along with Albania’s accession to WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT, 1996) in 2002, this event marks another step in developing the system of intellectual property protection in the country.
