Slovak Customs Seize EUR 490,000 Worth of Counterfeit Bed Linen
Slovak Customs officials recently seized 465 items of counterfeit bed linen infringing the Louis Vuitton® and Hermès® trademarks. The total value of the goods is estimated at EUR 490,000 (USD 516,000).
The officials discovered the goods in the town of Dunajská Streda in southwestern Slovakia, close to the Hungarian border, while inspecting a shipment being transported from China to Hungary. The bed linen was intended for the Hungarian market.
The counterfeiters will be fined approximately EUR 67,000 (USD 70,600) for IP rights infringement, while the fine may reach EUR 135,000 (USD 142,200) in case of repeated or continuous infringement.
