Romanian Customs Seize EUR 1 M Worth of Counterfeits

In the time period January 14 — February 5, 2016, the Romanian customs officials seized various products believed to be counterfeit, the total value of which is estimated at approximately EUR 1,023,415 (USD 1,124,970).

The seized products included eye glasses, children’s boots and gloves, socks, underwear, FM modulators, cell phone headsets and bottles of alcohol believed to infringe Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Chanel, BMW, Honda, Audi, KIA, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Lexus, Kenwood, Smiley, J&B and Jack Daniels trademarks, among others.

The seizures were made at the port of Constanta, south Romania, and in the capital of Bucharest.

The goods originated in China and were intended for companies located in Romania, Ukraine and Germany.
