EAPO Abolishes Accelerated Examination of Patent Applications

The Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) has signed a resolution abolishing the accelerated examination of patent applications as of March 1, 2013.

If the accelerated examination was requested and appropriate fees were paid before March 1, the application will be examined accordingly.

Prior to the change, it was possible to request an accelerated examination and thus reduce the length of proceedings related to the patent registration to almost six months.
