Bulgaria Customs Seize EUR 1 M Worth of Counterfeit Perfumes
The Bulgarian customs officials in the southern Bulgarian town of Svilengrad have recently seized 30,000 bottles of perfumes and eaux de toilette worth over EUR 1 million (USD 1.3 million), believed to be counterfeit.
The perfumes originated in Turkey and were intended for the German market. The bottles bore 30 well-known brand names including Boss, Chanel, Gucci, Dolce&Gabbana, Givenchy, Armani and Calvin Klein. This is the largest amount of fake perfumes seized by the Bulgarian customs officials in the last few years.
On a separate occasion, the customs officials in the northwestern Bulgarian town of Lom seized a shipment of 1,881 counterfeit perfumes bearing the marks of Dolce&Gabbana, Boss, Chanel, Gucci, Paco Rabanne and others. The perfumes were found in a truck with Greek license plates travelling to Germany.
