Romanian Customs Seize EUR 5M Worth of Counterfeits

In the period February 9 — March 9, the Romanian customs officials seized goods believed to be counterfeit worth almost EUR 5 million (USD 6.6 million).

The seized goods include clothing and sneakers bearing Adidas, Puma and Nike marks, bags and wallets bearing Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Chanel marks, razors bearing the Gillette mark, telephones and accessories bearing Nokia and iPhone marks and toys bearing the Angry Birds mark.

The seizures were made at the port of Constanta, eastern Romania, in the city of Calafat, southern Romania and in the town of Otopeni near Bucharest. The goods originated in China and were intended for the Romanian and Moldovan markets.
