Oleh develops and implements enforcement strategies related to software copyright, trademark, design and plant variety rights in Ukraine and other former USSR countries. He has extensive experience in performing online and field investigations, gathering evidence, negotiating with infringers, initiating legal proceedings and representing clients before courts, customs and other law enforcement authorities.
On behalf of the world’s leading software manufacturer, Oleh has been coordinating an anti-piracy campaign which includes day-to-day monitoring of public tenders and customers across Ukraine with the aim of preventing copyright infringement and software piracy in the public sector. Among other things, he has been organizing trainings and developing educational materials for state customers, giving them exhaustive information on how to avoid unlicensed software.
Before joining PETOŠEVIĆ in 2018, Oleh worked for several years at other law firms in Ukraine where he represented clients in criminal, civil, and commercial proceedings and where his practice focused on enforcement of copyrights, trademarks and plant variety rights on behalf of world’s leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and information technology (IT) companies.
Oleh also worked for several years as an investigator and prosecuting attorney at several district prosecutor’s offices where he, among other duties, handled pre-trial investigations related to criminal offenses committed by state authorities such as abuse of power and corrupt practices. As a prosecuting attorney, he supervised investigators, provided procedural guidance in pre-trial investigations and developed and implemented investigative strategies. He also supervised the observance of land law by the local government and regulatory authorities.
