Romanian Customs Seize EUR 60,000 Worth of Counterfeit Goods

On July 5, 2017, Romanian Coast Guard and customs officials at the Port of Constanta, southeastern Romania, seized large quantities of goods believed to be counterfeit.

The officials confiscated 12,780 children’s cups and stickers believed to infringe numerous word and figurative marks, including Mickey Mouse®, Hello Kitty®, Minions® and Spiderman®, and estimated to be worth approximately EUR 54,500 (USD 62,900).

The officials also seized 19,840 razors and hair straighteners believed to be counterfeit, with an estimated value of EUR 4,600 (USD 5,300).

All goods originated in China and were intended for a company based in the capital of Bucharest.
