Hungarian Officials Seize Fake Detergent
The Hungarian National Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) officials recently seized 450 bottles of counterfeit detergent with an estimated value of EUR 5,000 (USD 5,600) during the inspection of a truck on the M1 highway in northwestern Hungary.
The driver, who claimed that he bought the goods in Budapest and was transporting them to his family in Slovakia, used a fake invoice to justify the goods. After being contacted by the NTCA, the company listed as the invoice issuer confirmed that the invoice was forged. Similar invoices, allegedly issued by two foreign companies, were also found in the truck.
