Bosnia IPO Project
In 2015, PETOŠEVIĆ was part of a consortium involved in implementing an EU-funded project (EuropeAid/134241/C/SER/BA), whose main objective was to improve the capacity of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina by establishing and running centers for information and education at the lnstitute’s head office in Mostar and in the branch offices in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
These centers aim to assist in the overall development of the national IP system and in raising public awareness and understanding of IP and its significance. The training programs offered by the centers address the needs of all the key players in IP protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
PETOŠEVIĆ CEO Slobodan Petosevic and PETOŠEVIĆ Bosnia Director Tarik Prolaz were selected as short-term senior and junior experts, respectively, responsible for holding several of these training events, while PETOŠEVIĆ Serbia Director Mihajlo Zatezalo was invited to present at three IP workshops.
In February 2015, Slobodan Petosevic lectured on the importance of IP at three awareness-raising workshops. Three more workshops were organized in September and October 2015.
In November 2015, Mihajlo Zatezalo lectured on the national system of IP protection and shared valuable information on the registration and protection of patents, trademarks and designs, as well as on the use of patent information databases.
The first workshop held by Mr. Zatezalo was held in the Innovation Centre Banja Luka (ICBL) on November 4, 2015, followed by the second workshop in the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo on November 5, 2015, and the non-governmental organization Foundation for Innovation and Technology Development (INTERA) in Mostar on November 6, 2015. Participants from various universities, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as larger companies had the opportunity to learn new information and incorporate it in their IP protection strategies.
