Armenia, US Sign Trade Agreement
On May 7, 2015, Armenia and the United States signed a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement intended to improve the bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The agreement foresees the formation of a joint Council on Trade and Investment that will meet at least once a year to discuss obstacles to US-Armenian trade and explore other ways of deepening economic ties between the two countries. Among other things, the agreement is expected to serve as a platform for addressing all outstanding IP-related issues.
The agreement was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Assistant US Trade Representative for Europe and the Middle East Daniel Mullaney, during Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Washington.
