Romanian Customs Seize EUR 2M Worth of Counterfeits

In the time period July 21 – August 12, 2014, the Romanian customs officials seized various goods believed to be counterfeit, the total value of which is almost EUR 2 million (USD 2.6 million).

The seized goods include over 2,000 chainsaws bearing the Stihl mark, over 13,000 sportswear items bearing the Cortez mark, and an unidentified number of toy cars bearing BMW, Lamborghini and Range Rover marks.

The seizures were made at the port of Constanta, eastern Romania. The goods originated in China and were intended for the Romanian market.
