Latvia Informs WIPO of Fees Under Budapest Treaty

Latvia has recently informed the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of its schedule of fees to be charged by the Microbial Strain Collection of Latvia (MSCL), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure.

The MSCL will charge EUR 427 (USD 575) for storage of a microorganism, EUR 43 (USD 58) for the issuance of a viability statement and EUR 43 (USD 58) for the furnishing of a sample of a microorganism.

The fees are subject to the Value Added Tax (VAT), which is 21 percent.
