New Official Fees in Russia

Dec 27 2013 - 11:41

On November 14, the Government of the Russian Federation approved the amendments to the regulation on IP-related fees, which entered into force on December 2, 2013.

The most important change is the introduction of a new official fee for the change of address of the applicant/holder with respect to a pending trademark application. Before amendments, the fee was approximately EUR 115 (USD 160) per application and now the official fee has been reduced to EUR 25 (USD 34).

Also, for the surrender of a trademark, the trademark owner must pay the official fee of approximately EUR 50 (USD 68). Prior to the amendments, filing a trademark surrender request was free of charge.
