Bulgarian Customs Seize Counterfeit Perfumes, Sneakers, Apparel

The Bulgarian customs officials at the Kapitan Andreevo and Varna checkpoints, southeastern and eastern Bulgaria, have recently seized a considerable quantity of goods bearing well-known brand names, believed to be counterfeit.

The seized goods include:

• 6,000 counterfeit childrenís drawing kits and stickers bearing the Dora the Explorer, The Cars, Barbie — The Island Princess and Minnie Mouse marks
• 400 Pairs of sneakers bearing the Lacoste, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger and Converse marks
• 500 counterfeit perfumes and eaux de toilette, worth over EUR 35,000 (USD 45,000), bearing the Gucci Guilty, Lancome, Christian Dior, Bvlgari and Givenchy marks
• 1,000 metal labels bearing the Adidas mark
• 327 womenís and childrenís blouses, menís shirts and pants bearing the Armani, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Guess, Dolce&Gabanna, Adidas, DSquared, Polo Ralph Lauren, Moschino and Pepe Jeans marks

The goods originated in China and Turkey and were intended for the Romanian and Bulgarian markets.
